This design for new flats over a public house in a tight east-London site builds on a series of east-end traditions; covered external stairs with windows opening into circulation routes and a glazed brick chimneystack.
The refurbishment of the common parts of this prestigious 1930s block overlooking Regent’s Park involved wrapping the side of the staircases in a fire-retardant, double-curved walnut wood panelling.
